Galerie Verbeeck Van Dyck • Verbindingsdok 12, Antwerp • 20h – 23h30
Join us on Monday for the opening night of the AQAF exhibition at the gallery Verbeeck – Van Dyck; we present work by Antwerp photographer Gerald Dauphin, courtesy of FOMU. From Pride parades to Dyke marches, Dauphin was at the right place at the right time to make some exquisite pictures in nineties New York.
Cinematek • Baron Horta 9, Brussels • 17h15 – 19h
After establishing himself as an actor of note in Westerns like “The Lawless Breed” (1952) and “Bend in the River” (1952), Hudson became a bona fide star as a reckless bad boy who finds redemption in Douglas Sirk’s great melodrama “Magnificent Obsession.” Hudson played Bob Merrick, a spoiled playboy whose carelessness indirectly causes the death of a beloved doctor while his own life is saved. Meanwhile, the doctor’s wife, Helen (Jane Wyman), refuses to accept Bob’s repeated offers to make up for his mistake. But when she becomes accidentally blinded, he grants help anonymously while becoming a brilliant surgeon who ultimately restores her sight. A hugely successful film, “Magnificent Obsession” put Hudson on the path to becoming one of Hollywood’s top box office draws.
It’s the film’s commitment to the ridiculousness, what finesses that trademark Sirkian irony, aided with an attractive cast of performers in Jane Wyman, Barbara Rush, Agnes Moorehead and specifically, a star-making act of Rock Hudson in this filmic folly of a melodramatic and unapologetically entertaining classic.

As you may or may not know : LocalSunDance and All The Lovers are Antwerp’s hottest Gay Sunday Afternoon concepts of the moment ♥
LocalSunDance, on one hand, brings together hundreds of people at LocalStore to chat, drink, eat and dance all evening long to the best disco and house music. Their events take place every second Sunday of the month during Spring and Summer.
All The Lovers, on the other hand, brings together some of the craziest people to dance to the queerest pop music you can imagine. No-nonsense, just bouncy and happy pop music going from Kylie’s “Slow” over J-Lo’s “Play” to Björk’s “Big Time Sensuality”.
So, since we all love gender blending we thought: “why not some party blending?!”
That’s why both concepts decided to join hands and will both be hosting a stage on top of the MUHKA museum to provide you with the best closing party for the Antwerp Pride on Sunday August 11th.
Music from 18:00 until Midnight
PS: Special guest performance at 23:00
This event will have limited capacity.
